How to Prepare for your Senior Photo Session

April 29, 2025 Seniors

Getting ready for your senior session should feel exciting, not stressful! Here's your go-to checklist to make sure you show up ready to rock it—and have a blast doing it.

1. Pick outfits that feel like you.

Bring 2-4 outfit options that reflect your style. Think variety—casual, dressy, sporty, and something just for fun if you want. Comfort is key: if you feel weird in it, it'll show.

2. Think about locations and vibes.

We'll plan your spots together, but if you have a field, alleyway, school stadium, or favorite hangout in mind—tell me! Your locations should feel connected to your story.

3. Don't overthink props—but do bring personal touches.

Sports gear, musical instruments, your dog, your favorite sneakers... anything that’s authentically you can make your photos even more personal.

4. Rest, hydrate, and prep the night before.

A good night's sleep, plenty of water, and laying out your outfits in advance will make the morning of your shoot way more relaxed. Plus, happy skin = happy photos.

5. Hair + makeup: polished, but you.

Go for camera-ready, but not unrecognizable. Hair should be styled but natural to your normal vibe. Same with makeup—enhance, don't mask.

6. Nails and little details.

Your hands will show in some shots, so clean or freshly painted nails are a great idea. Same for shoes—yes, your shoes will show. Make sure they vibe with your outfits!

7. Trust the process.

Feeling a little awkward at the beginning? Totally normal. Give it 10 minutes. I'll guide you, pose you naturally, and hype you up until you forget the camera’s even there.

Your senior photos are about celebrating YOU—your style, your personality, your story. Prep a little, trust a lot, and let's make some magic.
